The Stork Life
Dr Satinder Singh Malik
Fighter pilot · mountaineer · philosopher · researcher of consciousness.

A rare fusion of military precision and spiritual depth. Dr Malik flew Su30 MKI jets for the Indian Air Force, stood on the summits of Kilimanjaro, Elbrus and Stok Kangri, and journeyed on pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash. Today he is an airline captain, a published consciousness researcher, an author of ten books, and a recording musician.
Through The Stork Life he offers free, nonreligious spiritual counselling, guiding seekers to find purpose through the ancient Purushartha framework, without dogma or blind faith.
Commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 1997, Dr Malik flew state-of-the-art Su-30 MKI fighters, mastering the discipline, precision, and courage that define those who operate at the edge of human capability. Yet his journey did not stop at the stratosphere. A keen skydiver, river rafter, and mountaineer, he has summited peaks including Mt Stok Kangri, Mt Elbrus, and Mt Kilimanjaro and was part of a mountaineering expedition to Antarctica. He has also made the sacred pilgrimage to Mt Kailash and Mansarovar Lake in Tibet. He served as director of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation and director of the Air Force Directorate of Adventure.
Parallel to this life of outer adventure runs an equally profound inner journey. Guided by his Gurus, Pilot Babaji and Mahavatar Babaji, Dr Malik's deep immersion in philosophy, yoga, and contemplative practice has gifted him with rare insight and what the traditions call 'direct perception'. His work bridges the rigorous logic of science with the luminous depths of Eastern philosophy, charting territory where few thinkers dare to venture.
Dr Malik focuses on 'knowing' rather than faith and belief, following the path of Purushartha, the evolution of consciousness through Dharma, Artha, Kama, and ultimately Moksha. His research into the nature of consciousness and the cosmos has been published in respected peer-reviewed journals, including the Scientific God Journal and the Journal of Consciousness Exploration & Research (JCER).
The Stork Life · बगुला भगत
A stork is a bird of great patience. It stands in the reed-filled lake waters on one leg so the fish do not notice its presence, always focused on the aim. His mother called Dr SS Malik a Stork Meditator (Bagula Bhagat) because, even as a child, he stayed focused on his purpose and was not easily swayed.
The philosophy: we may play, have fun, indulge our desires, and face challenges, but we must never lose sight of our aim. That aim is Purushartha: the evolution of consciousness.
